Top Large Format 3D Printers Across The Web
3DP Platform flexes its top large format 3D printer muscle across the web
Recently, the 3DP Platform brand has been showcased in various websites dedicated to examining and comparing the virtues of large format 3D printing. Reading through 3 of these specific sites, we can find a trio of our printers that fall under the umbrella of large format additive manufacturing.
In one article titled Top 10 Large Format 3D Printers, reviewer Stan Baldwin of 3DPPrinterChat.com focuses on our 3DP Workbench (200 series) and its 1 x 1 x 0.5 meter build volume. He informs readers that “this industrial 3D printer is perfect for industrial designers and architects that need full size prototypes that don’t need to be assembled from other printers.”
Moving to a larger size printer, we find our 400 Series Workbench Extreme listed as one of the 15 largest 3D Printers in 2018 by ANNIWAA.com. With a build size dimension of 1 x 1.5 x 0.7 meters, and a build volume of 1.05 m3, this industrial 3D printer offers the possibility of extra-large prints, along with automatic calibration, a filament sensor and dual extrusion.
The biggest of the big are represented in the ALL3DP.com’s article The World’s Biggest & Most Expensive 3D Printers in 2018. Our Excel Series has dimensions starting at 4.0 x 4.0 x 8.0 feet (1.2 x 1.2 x 2.4 meters), but as the author notes, “the above dimensions are only the minimum possible, with the maximum pre-engineered size to date being 13 x 328 x 13 feet.” The key word here is customizable, which relates to the Excel’s ability to add moving gantries and modular extensions within its enclosure.
Since 3D printing has exploded in the last few years, hundreds of 3D printer manufacturers have been set up to build 3D printers to meet this new demand. These manufacturers come from all over the world, ranging from the USA to the UK, across Europe. 3D Platform is committed to making your biggest ideas a reality. As a global leader in manufacturing large format industrial strength 3D printers, our team is focused on driving advancements in technology to innovate, design, and build next-generation equipment for additive manufacturing at an affordable price.
As industry reviewers continued to recognize 3D Platform, industry users will continue to find flexibility and choice within the large format 3D printing arena.

3DP Workbench: This industrial 3D printer is perfect for industrial designers and architects that need full size prototypes that don’t need to be assembled from other printers. The workbench can be clamped to a standard workbench surface. It also breaks the mold at a 1 meter x 1 meter x 0.5 m build volume. While the price tag puts it in the industrial price range, it is one that can crank out full size cosplay props in a single sitting.
Pros: Large industrial scale build volume for industrial prints.
Cons: Prints that take days at a time. Industrial prices put it out of the price range of home printers.

What makes this large 3D printer special?
The Excel Series of 3D printers represents 3D Platform’s objective to accommodate the unique needs of every customer. The above dimensions are only the minimum possible, with the maximum pre-engineered size to date being 13 x 328 x 13 feet. In fact, given the machine’s design, the y-axis could theoretically be of an infinite length.
Other customizable features include number and type of moving gantries and modular extensions of the hard-sided enclosure. With so many features, it should come as no surprise that the price range for this platform is so wide.
3D Platform also offers a number of standard large 3D printers, the biggest being the Workbench Xtreme, at 37 ft³.
