Highland Community College
Highland Community College in Northwestern Illinois applies their 3DP printer to many facets of classroom instruction and community outreach. Within the classroom, HCC offers 3D printing courses through their lifelong learning program. Manufacturing students also utilize the 3D printer to build prototypes and convert 2D objects seen in textbooks into 3D representations, helping them to better visualize their project details. In addition, grade school children can witness the process of 3D printing, and ultimately inspire their young minds.

Problem:
Faculty at Highland had been witnessing the impact of 3D printing on manufacturing, and wanted a printer to be an integral part of their design and prototyping process.
Solution:
The 3DP printer now benefits many facets of classroom instruction and community outreach including prototyping, visualizing, and inspiration.
