3DP Benefits from Affiliate's Groundbreaking
The groundbreaking was for its new manufacturing facility. While most of the attention was focused on PBC Linear’s new 66,000-square-foot building, it should also be noted that 3DP Platform, which is an affiliate of PBC Linear and housed under the same roof, will stand to benefit from the expansion as well.
About PBC Linear
PBC Linear makes products that can be found in a vast array of industrial, medical, retail and military applications. COO Tom Schroeder commented, “There are tons of applications. The beauty of our business is that we’re not tied to any one industry.” It should then come as no surprise that the linear motion controls that PBC Linear has built a reputation on are also key components in 3DP’s industrial 3D printers.
Among the notable speakers at the groundbreaking ceremony was Jonathan Schroeder, President of 3DP Platform and son of PBC Linear CEO Bob Schroeder. “In order for us to expand, be competitive on a global market with new products, and be efficient with our space,” he explained, “we need more room.” Acknowledging the recent federal tax incentives, Jonathan said, “In getting the support, it just shows that the government at all levels is really tied to manufacturing in America. That’s really important for businesses like us.”
Continuing on a theme of community, Jonathan remarked, “There’s a very talented work pool of people that we can pull from in the Rockford area, up into Beloit and Janesville. It’s a great location.” He continued, “Being right on I90 makes it an easy commute from the western suburbs of Chicago.”
