6 Things to Know about 3DP’s HFA Extruders
Introducing HFA extruders, the fastest filament extruders on the market with continuous duty cycles and maximum print speed.
At this year’s RAPID + TCT show (#3DPrinting #RAPIDevent), 3D Platform (3DP) is demonstrating its High Flow Air Cooled (HFA) extruders that are the fastest filament extruders on the market. This innovative extruder design doubles the volumetric throughput of 3DP’s previous generation to 35mm3/s (7.6in3/hr).
“Our new line of quick-swap dual extruder heads deliver high quality 3D prints and are independently controlled for speed and extruded material amounts,” says Jonathan Schroeder, President of 3D Platform. “They are the fastest filament extruders on the market, and can accommodate filament sizes from 1.75 mm to 3 mm and nozzle sizes from .2 mm to 2.5 mm.”
Here are 6 things you should know about these fast extruders:
Fun Fact 1: They produce maximum output with high reliability.
Fun Fact 2: They feature a gear reduction transmission that prevents filament stripping and slipping.
Fun Fact 3: Their print resolution is down to 50 microns.
Fun Fact 4: They come standard with the 300 Series 3DP WorkbenchPro and as an available upgrade option with the 100 Series WorkTable and 200 Series WorkbenchClassic.
Fun Fact 5: They feature nozzle sizes of:
- .4 mm (minimum).
- .6 mm (standard).
- 2.5 mm (maximum).
Fun Fact 6: They provide continuous duty cycle for commercial and digital manufacturing environments.
3DP continues to offer our existing customers a natural roadmap to take advantage of these technology advancements. The HFA is available as a field installed upgrade kit; for example, this would allow the first 3DP printer sold to be upgraded to the HFA and therefore increase throughput 4x vs. the original V6 extruder.
